The Hernando Beach channel is supposed to begin the  dredging process very soon, it has been a long wait to get this on track. Our county commissioners have also managed to do this and give away a couple of hundred thousand dollars to the very same people who will benefit from the spoils( sand dredged out) approximately 40,000 sq. yds. There is also a lawyer that was paid over $80,000.00 (Hernando county has a staff lawyer paid to do just this sort of project) to expedite this boondoggle. We need the channel made deeper and wider but why are these folks benefiting from Hernando counties loss of money needed to repair other infrastructure.
